Since the recession, Buckinghamshire has represented the third strongest job growth in the UK, a 7.2% increase, currently 82.8% of the regions working age population are employed.

Employment in Buckinghamshire is projected to increase by 8.5% (24,000 jobs) between 2018 and 2030. The population is forecasted to increase 0.8% per annum to reach 591,300 by 2030.

According to the Office of Budget Responsibility, Buckinghamshire’s economy is set to grow 2.1% from 2019 to 2020.

    Employment

    Transport

    The county is part of the London commuter belt, which means it’s well connected to the national rail network, with commuters benefitting from the inter-city and local services. Chiltern railways is the main train operating company in the Buckinghamshire region, providing local commuter services from the centre to the south of the country, with trains running into London stations. First Great Western is another large provider for the area, providing services from Taplow and Iver in Paddington.

    For those intercity services, Virgin trains are the largest provider for these services, Milton Keynes to Euston, North West England, the West Midlands, Wales and Scottish central belt.
